Who can participateThe Children & Worship ministry is for children ages 2 years old through the 5th grade.PurposeChildren are being trained to understand the full meaning of a worship service and how to become full participants in worship. We strive to fulfill our mission statement for children's ministries. What we teachThe lower level curriculum that we use is that of Sonja Stewart and Jerome Berryman's book "Children and Worship" and Helen Zwyghuizen's "Leading Children in Worship." The upper level curriculum comes from Colette DeNooyer and is entitled "Eyes to See."How it worksAt Orchard Hill we run six separate worship centers, one for each age group. Throughout the year a special theme is carried out in our gathering worship time, in our centers weekly, and especially during the special seasons of the church year (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost). Previous themes have included, "Follow Me," "I Wonder," and "A Child Shall Lead." This year we have chosen to explore the "Fruits of the Spirit" theme, based on Galatians 5:22.Contact informationFor more information, contact Karen Seitz or Julie Vantine at 616.784.4060 x229. |

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
